Banqeta Secures Global Agreement with Visa to Power Virtual Card Offering and Drive International Expansion

Banqeta, the multi-currency business payments platform serving companies in over 130 countries, today announced it has signed a global agreement with Visa to power Banqeta’s virtual card programme as its exclusive card scheme. The deal includes a significant upfront investment from Visa to accelerate Banqeta’s technology build and market expansion.

Under the agreement, all Banqeta virtual cards will be issued on the Visa network, giving business users access to Visa’s global acceptance footprint, advanced security features, and industry-leading reliability. This partnership strengthens Banqeta’s ability to deliver seamless, real-time spending solutions in both traditional and digital currencies, enabling businesses to operate with greater speed, control, and flexibility across borders.

Neil Weeks, CEO and Co-Founder of Banqeta, said:
"Securing Visa as our global card scheme partner is a major step forward in Banqeta’s mission to simplify and modernise business payments worldwide. With Visa’s backing, we are scaling our platform to deliver faster, smarter, and more secure financial tools for businesses everywhere."

The partnership will support Banqeta’s continued rollout of its proprietary infrastructure, which offers multi-currency accounts, traditional and digital currency wallets, and BanqIT — Banqeta’s internal network that enables instant, fee-free same-currency transfers between Banqeta users anywhere in the world. Integrating Visa’s global capabilities ensures Banqeta customers can spend with confidence in over 200 countries and territories, whether using a virtual card or linking it to physical payment devices.

The agreement with Visa reinforces Banqeta’s position as a leading global payments platform, combining innovative technology with trusted financial infrastructure to empower businesses of all sizes to operate without the delays or costs of legacy systems.
